”Wherever you go becomes a part of you somehow." Anita Desai
Wonder via Wandering has been one of my greatest blessing in life, teaching me lessons of compassion, curiosity, simplicity, and faith. If you have traveled ANYWHERE, I pray my paintings spark wonderful memories. If you have yet to explore the world, I hope they inspire you to REALLY LIVE wherever you are.
NOLA is a city filled with a beautiful and horrifying history, a clash of cultures, a deep connection to the past, and a never-ceasing, never-sleeping celebration of the present.
My obsession with rusted metal began here, in the above ground cemeteries, as I contemplated who these graves belonged to, what lives those people led, what history they created, and what stories the iron could tell. This is why I've chosen a surname for most of my pieces, an ode to my musings.
I consider it a special honor to be trusted with a loved one's portrait. Whether you seek to surprise them with a one-of-a-kind gift or you wish to honor the memories they leave behind, I look forward to helping you convey your love and admiration for them in such an intimate manner.
I spent a lot of my childhood playing and helping my parents in our barns. These paintings remind me of a simpler time and help me slow down and reflect on my blessings. Rusted metal and weathered wood, for me, hold so much history, showing the toll time has taken on them for all to see. The stories they could tell if they could speak…
Inspired by a poem written by Jennifer Giles, families around the world began collecting white pumpkins in honor of their little ones gone too soon. These paintings were created to raise awareness about infant and pregnancy loss and eventually led to the White Pumpkin Family. Kelly’s Bouquet was modeled from a flower arrangement shared by a healing mother shortly after her miscarriage. It is an honorary pumpkin painting.
The following paintings do not fit into a particular category. Most of them, however, focus on the small wonders of life that are often overlooked. Many are paint demos from my Facebook group.
